RoboSimL

Last updated: 6 August 2026

RoboSimL ("the app") is made by Connor Lin. This policy explains what the app collects, what it does not, and who to contact about it. It is short because the app collects very little.

The short version

The app collects nothing at all unless you choose to submit a robot to us. If you never open Settings → Account → Submit a Robot, no personal information leaves your device.

There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party advertising or measurement SDKs. The app does not ask for your location, camera, microphone, photos, or contacts.

What stays on your device

Your settings are stored on the device using the operating system's normal app-preferences storage and are never transmitted anywhere. That includes:

Deleting the app deletes all of it.

What is collected when you submit a robot

Submitting a robot is entirely optional. If you use it, the following is sent to our Google Firebase Cloud Storage bucket and stored there:

WhatWhy
The CAD or model file you chooseIt is the robot; we rebuild it so it can be driven in the app
Your team nameSo we know whose robot it is
Robot name (optional)To tell your robots apart
Your email addressSo we can tell you when your robot is ready, or why it could not be set up
Notes (optional)Anything you want us to know about the robot
Your sharing choiceWhether the finished robot is listed publicly or unlocked only by a code
App version, device platform, and the time you submittedTo reproduce problems with a submission
An anonymous upload IDA random identifier created by Firebase Anonymous Authentication so the upload can be authorised and so your submissions group together. It is not tied to your Apple ID, your name, or any account, and it is not used for advertising or tracking.

We use this information for one purpose: to set your robot up and to reply to you about it. We do not sell it, we do not share it with anyone for advertising, and we do not use it to build a profile of you.

How long it is kept

Robots published for other players

If you choose "Anyone — list it publicly" when submitting, the finished robot is listed in the app for all players, shown with the team name you provided. If you choose "Just my team", the robot is reachable only by someone holding the code we send you.

Every submission is reviewed and rebuilt by hand by us before it appears in the app. Nothing you upload is shown to another player automatically, and your email address and notes are never shown to other players.

Who else is involved

The app uses Google Firebase (Cloud Storage and Anonymous Authentication) to receive submissions and to deliver published robots. Google processes this data as our service provider; see the Firebase privacy information and the Google Privacy Policy.

The app makes two read-only requests to Firebase when it starts, to check for newly published robots and for any message addressed to your upload ID. If you are offline, both fail quietly and the app works normally.

Children

The app is designed for school robotics teams and is suitable for all ages. It contains no chat, no social features, and no way for one user to contact another.

An email address is requested only at the moment someone chooses to submit a robot, and only so we can reply about that robot. If you are under 13 (or the age of digital consent where you live), please ask a parent, guardian, or coach before submitting a robot, and use their email address. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, email us at the address below and we will delete it.
